Bird Song Mini Album

“Hello, G45ers I am super excited to be here again with a new project, a mini album using the amazing collection Bird Song.

I think Bird Song is hands down one of the most elegant collections from Graphic 45. The radiant colors and elegant textures inspired me to create a very sophisticated album, one that will try to do justice to the collection.

Graphic 45 Supply List:

For the cover, I used a combination of my favorite papers, plus Asian-style bead charms and tassels on the spine of the album to pick up the reds in some of the images from the collection. The tassels were made using knitting yarn. For the beads, I used a combination of different styles from my own collection.

I also used different images for the main cover. I layered them with chipboard to add dimension and interest.

For the base of the album, I used black chipboard. The completed album measures 7 ½” by 5 ½” and is designed for a landscape orientation.

I wanted the album to have lots of space for adding photos and journaling areas. Every page also has interactive elements with pockets and flaps.

I love the combination of floral patterns and Asian letters in this collection. I also fussy cut some of the flowers to accentuate some of my pages.

For other pages, I used the lanterns as my main focal point design piece. I used adhesive only on the edges of the fussy cut images to be able to insert either photos or ephemera under them.

For the pockets of the album, I used black square tags that I altered with paper and fussy cut images from the collection. Making each tag different to coordinate with its correspondent page is so easy just by using the amazing coordinating Graphic 45 square die.

I use the tags not only as embellishments, but they also act as double duty photograph holders and journaling areas.
